Obituary
She was born in Tennessee on September 8, 1933 to the late Virgil and Amanda (nee: Bratcher) Lindsay. On December 24, 1956 Elizabeth married Homer Lovely. Her and Homer later moved to Racine and planted their roots. Homer & Liz were married for 53 wonderful years. She cherished her role as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Elizabeth lived a life filled with love, warmth, and dedication to her family. She found joy in every moment spent with her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and she took immense pride in watching them grow and thrive.
An amazing cook, Liz had a way for making dishes that brought everyone together around the table, where laughter and love filled the air. Her home was surrounded by the most beautiful flowers, a testament to her nurturing spirit and love.
Elizabeth's kindness and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to flourish in the hearts of her family.
Rest in peace, dear Liz. Your love will forever bloom in our hearts.
She is survived by her children Gary (Kim Koch) Lovely and Brenda (Stan) Matson; her grandchildren Jonathon Matson, Danielle (Joseph Furrer) Lovely, Dawn (Tim) Prust, Andrew Lovely, Jaclyn (Tom) Burke; and her great-grandchildren Jaxson, Ellie, Jacob, Andi, and Isabella; brother in law Willard (Kathy) Lovely, and dear friends Ron & Laurie Carter.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is proceeded in death by her brother Charles Lindsay and her granddaughter-in-law Brandi Matson.
A memorial service for Elizabeth will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 11:00am at Purath-Strand Funeral Home. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 10:00am until the time of service. Private inurnment will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Siena Living Lakeshore/ Activities Department, 5643 Erie Street, Racine, WI 53402 have been suggested.
