Elinor P. SwansonRacine- Elinor P. Swanson, 98, passed away at Lakeshore Manor on December 10, 2010.Elinor was born in Racine on September 18, 1912, to Paul and Ruby (nee: Fischer) Bartz. She attended school in Racine and was in the first graduating class from Horlick High School. Elinor married Emil L. Swanson in Racine on September 17, 1932; he preceded her in death in 1999. She was a homemaker, devoting her time and loving attention to her family. Elinor enjoyed crocheting, knitting and was an excellent baker, especially her cakes and tortes. Along with her mother, she was involved in a Secret Pal Organization and a Bunko group.Elinor is survived by her daughter Marcia E. Meracle, and her cousin's widow, Joyce Krenzke. She is survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son- in- law, Donald H. Meracle, Jr. A memorial service for Elinor will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 8500 Durand Avenue, Sturtevant on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Jeffrey Mortenson officiating. Interment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of services. Memorials to Faith Lutheran Church have been suggested. Elinor's daughter, Marcia, would like to thank the staff at Lakeshore Manor for the excellent care given to her mother.
