RACINE – Eleanor L. Korakian, 86, passed away at Ascension All Saints Hospital on Saturday, January 21, 2017. Elly was born in Chicago, IL on April 22, 1930 to Frederick and Dorothy (nee, Yehling) Cutrell. She married George Korakian, celebrating 67 years of marriage. Elly was the first woman Bank Manager in Racine working as both Manager and Loan Officer until her retirement from Security Bank. She was a member of St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church where she was a good supporter of the Women's Guild. She enjoyed crafting, ceramics with her daughters, painting sewing and crocheting. Elly loved to bake and cook but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, George Korakian; children, Dan (Marjorie) Korakian, Diane (Pat) Hinze and Jodi (Jeff) Smith; grandchildren, Gina Alvarez, Peter (Jeni) Korakian, Angela (Erik) Langdon, Dereck Hinze, Haley Smith, Peyton Smith and Elena Cutrell; great-grandchildren, Oscar Alvarez, Randie Langdon and Rhianna Langdon; and her brother, Fred (Joanne) Cutrell, Jr.; and sister, Lynn Cutrell. Elly is also survived by Emily Weiss, Sam Weiss and Julia Bowen who she held special in her heart; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Alvena Black, Arlene Lamb and Lorna Stoll. Funeral services for Elly will be held at St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, 4605 Erie Street, on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Avedis Kalayjian and Fr. Yeprem Kelegian officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be directed to St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church.
