Racine – Eileen Q. Henken, 87, passed away at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center on Thursday, October 7, 2010. Eileen was born on February 11, 1923 to Louis J. and Loretto (nee, Cunningham) Quinn. She married Dr. William F. Henken on September 20, 1944 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Racine. Eileen was a graduate of Washington Park High School and Northwestern University. She enjoyed volunteering and helping others. Eileen was active in the Girl Scouts of Racine, serving as a Girl Scout Leader and was a member of the Junior League of Racine. She was a member and past president of the Medical Auxiliary. She was also a St. Luke's Hospital volunteer and was buyer for the St. Luke's Gift Shop. While Eileen enjoyed volunteering in the community, her true passion was being a devoted wife, mother and member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Her family was the focus of her life. Eileen is survived by her children, Monica Henken of Racine; James W. (Dr. Margaret Doucette) Henken of Boise, ID, Robert Q. (Celeste) Henken of Racine, and David Lewis Henken of Milwaukee; grandchildren, Emily Henken, Susan Henken, Lauren Henken, Michael Henken and Lucas Henken. Eileen is also survived by other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband. A private family service for Eileen was held followed by entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy32. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, the Healthcare Network, the Women's Resource Center or a charity of one's choice.
