Obituary

- Edward (aka Eddie/ Big Ed) L. Lindgren, passed away June 6th, 2021 surrounded by his loving wife Helen and their two daughters; Cathy and Mary. Edward was born in Grand Rapids, MN. on August 2nd, 1934 to Carl Lindgren and Veronica Belto. Ed was raised in Warba, MN. where he attended Warba School and spent his free time fishing and hunting. In 1952, Ed moved to Racine, WI and enlisted in the United States Airforce as a petroleum supply specialist. In 1956, Ed was honorably discharged and went back to residing in Racine, WI. There he met Helen (Liegl) and the two were married at St. Edwards Catholic Church in 1959. Edward started his career at JI Case where he retired after 23 years. Edward and Helen moved to Pengilly, MN for a peaceful retirement, but in 2013 moved back to Racine, WI due to Ed's declining health. Edward was a family man who would do anything for those he loved. Ed loved hunting, fishing, playing his guitar, and listening to classic country music. Ed enjoyed telling his life stories to his family, friends, and anyone who would sit with him and listen. Edward is proceeded in death by his parents Carl Lindgren and Veronica Belto, his brother Earl Lindgren, his daughter Rosemarie, his grandson (In-law) Aragon Sharp, and his great-grandson Dyllan Compton. Edward is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen, his son Robert Lindgren of Canton, GA, his three daughters; Mary Gursky, Susan (Mark) Gursky, Catherine Lindgren (Terry Chesser) all of Racine, WI. His grandchildren; Barb (Frank) Helding, Melissa Galipeau (Jeremy Rediske), Teri Sharp, Brett Gursky (Erika Walquist), Kristopher (Sara) Gursky, Jeffrey (Kaylee) Gursky, Holly (Josh) Franke, Karl (Lauren) Gursky. His great- grandchildren; Corissa, Preston, Peyton, Madison, Thomas, Krystal, Morgan, Miley, Michael, Alize, Savannah, Baylin, Anthony, Paige, Melony, and Ashton. Further survived by nieces, nephews and other family members. The family would like to add a special thank you to all the amazing medical staff. Dr. Mark Decheck (Ascension), Julie his RN (Hospice Alliance), Jackie his CNA (Hospice Alliance), Connie his social worker, Theresa his caregiver (Home Instead), and all of Hospice Alliance for the last 3 months of care. Funeral service for Edward will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. Private Inurnment will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m.until the time services. Memorials to the family have been suggested.
