Edith E. Slette Racine - Edith E. Slette, 94, passed away at Mt. Carmel Health & Rehabilitation Center on Thursday, September 27, 2007. Edith was born in Hawkins, WI on May 15, 1913 to Phillip and Louise (nee Bryant) Marrier. She married Joseph Slette on July 20, 1931 and he preceded her in death on February 26, 1947. Edith worked as a secretary for several lawyers and also in the Racine County District Attorney's Office. She was made Secretary of the year in 1981, with the Racine Chapter of the Legal Secretaries Association. She was the National Representative for Legal Secretaries Association in 1980 and 1981. In 1986, she was awarded a lifetime, Honorary Membership. Edith is survived by her daughters, Jeanne (George) Ensign and Carol (Thomas) Davis; grandchildren, Kathleen Campbell, Eileen (John) Nero, David (Kathleen) Ensign, Gary (Teresa) Ensign, Kenneth (Mia) Ensign, Terri (Michael) Graham and John (Peggy) Dzurick; 10 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Edith was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Donald; and a sister, Pauline. Funeral services for Edith will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at 1 p.m. Interment will take place in Holy Family Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services.
