RACINE-Earnest Petz, 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 18, 2017.Earnest was born on August 9, 1937 to Andrew and Mary (Kiesley) Petz. He graduated from Park High School in 1955. On September 4, 1965, Earnest married the former Nancy Ann Collard in Menominee, MI. She preceded him in death on November 2, 2006. Earnest served in the U.S. Navy 1957-1961. He was a skilled Sheet Metal Journeyman working for Mohr-Jones, Zinane Sheet Metal and finishing his career at Martin Petersen Sheet Metal-Kenosha.Ernie enjoyed gardening, woodworking and working with his hands and could fix anything. His first car was a Model-A that he drove to his first job working in a restaurant. Survivors include his children, Brenda (Terrance) Prange, Debra (Chris) Hall-Hoferitza and Bryan Petz. Grandchildren, Amber (Brian) Todd, Adam, Ashley and Ashtin (Carlie) Cappelen, Austin and Dalton Hall and great grandchildren, Mackenzie Todd, and Addysen and Ayden Cappelen. Earnest is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Andy, Frank, Steve, George, Mary, Louie and Anna. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, January 28, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Services will follow at 10:45 a.m. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ernie's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Kenosha Forgotten Friends would be appreciated.
