Racine – Earl M. Zarbock, 85, passed away at his home on Friday, December 18, 2009. Earl was born in Racine on June 7, 1924 to George and Emma Zarbock. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. Earl married the former Jean E. Overson on January 11, 1947 and she preceded him in death on December 18, 1989. He was in the Real Estate business for many years last working and retiring from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development where he had worked as an appraiser for over twenty years. Earl was a Packer fan and loved golf, both playing and watching on TV. He was very athletic, playing most sports throughout his high school years. He was an active member of the Y.M.C.A. for over 60 years. Earl is survived by his children, Michael E. Zarbock, Jeffrey (Cynthia) Zarbock, and Susan Gilliam; grandchildren, Michael (Nicole) Gilliam, David (Heather) Gilliam, Daniel (Christine) Gilliam, Nicole (Ryan) Hoffman and Sarah (Chuy) Reynoso; great-grandchildren, Alex, Allyssa, Hunter, Cierra, MacKenzie, Skylar, Caleb, Meghan, Christian, Anabelle and Yliana; and dearest friend, Gladys Greene. Earl is also survived by other relatives and friends. Memorial services for Earl will be held at the funeral home on at 5:30 p.m. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Foundation.
