RACINE – Dorothy Kupper, 82, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints on Tuesday, January 6, 2015. Dorothy was born in Morrill, NE on June 11, 1932 to Fred and Marie (nee, Eisel) Bernhardt. On February 16, 1952 she married Peter P. Kupper who preceded her in death. She had been employed by Ziabicki Imports, Howard Industries and Sears. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports, shopping and especially enjoyed the casinos. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with dear friend & companion Jerry Lemke and with her friends at the breakfast club. Survivors include her children, Barbara A. (James) Shelton, David B. (Patti) Kupper and Terese M. Weidner; grandchildren, Riley Shelton, Richard Kupper, Michelle (Troy) Greener, Lisie Kupper, Paul Michael Weidner and Jordan Weidner; great grandchildren, Sean, Ryan, Peyton, Dixie, Sharona, Olivia, Sophia and Eva; her brothers, Harvey (Joanne) Bernhardt and Donald Bernhardt; her sister, Elsie Brander; and very special friend, Jerry Lemke. Dorothy is also survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Katie Kupper; and her brothers, Jake Bernhardt and Edward Bernhardt. Funeral Mass for Dorothy will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Erie and St. Patrick Streets, on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 11 a.m. Inurnment will take place at Country Haven Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the church on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11 a.m. Memorials may be directed to the Humane Society. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Wheaton Franciscan Hospice and the staff on 3B and 3C for all of their compassionate care.
