RACINE – Dorothy Elsie Jacobsen (Dorothy Elsie Masters), born April 20, 1922 in Victoria, Canada, died on Monday January 14, 2013, in Kenosha, WI following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Dorothy moved to Racine in 1946 from Townsville, Australia and had been a resident of Racine till 2007 when she moved to Clare Bridge Nursing Home in Kenosha. She was married at Bethania Lutheran Church on October 11, 1946 in Racine and was a parishioner there till she moved to Kenosha. This beautiful, gentle caring, Christian woman will be missed by her family and friends. She loved her gardens and her many friends and was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul E. Jacobsen and her parents, Charles and Elsie (nee: Atkins) Masters. She is survived by her brother George Masters of Townsville, Queensland, Australia and her sister Maude Cavanaugh formerly of Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia and now of Bibra Lake, Western Australia, her daughter, Sandra (Luke) Kozich (Racine); and her sons, Barry (Jane Standley) (Bozeman, MT) and Robert (Jean) (Racine, WI); her grandchildren, Sarah (Pete Savage) Jacobsen (Blackfoot, ID), Leigh (Andrew) Crouse (Madison, AL), Robbyn Erickson, Paul, Hannah and Robbie Jacobsen (Racine, WI); and her great-grandchildren, Allexsandra and Alleigha Williams (Racine, WI), Sturm and Durin Savage (Blackfoot, ID) and Anna, Ben and Alex Crouse (Madison, AL). Dorothy will be interred with her husband at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Dover, WI, with only family in attendance. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to The Hospice Alliance, Inc. The family extends a special note of thanks to Hospice Alliance and the staff at Clare Bridge of Kenosha.
