Dorothy Mae Cosey Racine - Dorothy Mae Cosey, 82, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan healthcare on Thursday, April 24, 2008. Dorothy was born in Macon, GA on June 9, 1925 to Jessie and Nettie (nee: Taylor) Franks. Her father passed away when she was a young child an when her mother remarried Dorothy was adopted by her step father, Nemiah Robinson. She enjoyed a happy and safe child within a loving and intact family in the city where she was born. When Dorothy was 12 years of age, she came with her family to Milwaukee. In her adolescent years there she continued to be a free and responsible soul within the family and with the many friends that she made so easily. She married Warren H. Cosey, Sr., he preceded her in death on April 20, 1989. They enjoyed a mutually loving relationship for 47 years. From this union children were born, and all are alive, active citizens and are grieving the loss of their beloved mother. Dorothy loved shopping and gardening, especially her flowers. She was a loving mother and was very protective of her children and would do anything for them and was always there for advice. She was very close to her brother who always helped her. Survivors include her children, Loretta (Robert) Holland, Warnetta Smith, Warren Cosey, Jr., Wenda Coldtrain, Antoinette Cosey, Anthony Cosey, Sonja (Ernest) Blake, Joyce Ann (Dewey) Honor and Bruce (Susan) Cosey; 33 grandchildren; 79 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Dr. John Henry Jackson; first, cousin Bobby Lee Robinson and his family. Dorothy is also survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandmother; and her uncle Willie. Funeral services for Dorothy will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Minister Wardell Morgan, Sr. officiating. Interment will take place in Wood National Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
