Racine – Doris Mae Eickhorst, nee, Klepel, 81, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints on Saturday, November 16, 2013. Doris was born in Racine on March 6, 1932 to Earl and Rhoda (nee, Simon) Klepel. She married Gilbert H. Eickhorst on February 9, 1952. He preceded her in death on November 19, 2010. In retirement they enjoyed spending their winters in Old Bridge Village in North Fort Myers, FL where they had many close friends. Doris was a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church. Her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life.Survivors include her children, Gary (Chris) Eickhorst, Warren (Kristin) Eickhorst and Diana (Tom) Meier; six Grandchildren, Barbara, Eric, Brittany, Jennifer, Alex and Matthew; and brother, Earl (Shirley) Klepel. Doris is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, LaVerne and Norman Voll. Funeral services for Doris will be held at St. John Lutheran Church, corner of Erie and Kewaunee Streets, on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jack Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church or School.
