RACINE – Doris H. Bode, 81, beloved wife of Richard "Dick" Bode, went to join her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 26, 2015 at Lakeshore Manor, surrounded by family after a long illness. Doris was born in Crookston, NE on August 15, 1933 to Walter and Margaret (nee, Weisflog) Ohlmann. Doris was a member of the Cross and Crown Organization at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Elmwood Park and a member of the Racine Lutheran High School Ladies Guild. She was a volunteer at the Lutheran High School Thrift Store on Lathrop Avenue. She also enjoyed sewing, working with flowers, baking, cooking and keeping in close contact with her children and grandchildren. Doris is survived by her husband, their three children, Annette (Victor) Matera, Joel (Judy) Bode of Magnolia, TX and Daniel (Beth) Bode of Fairhope, AL; grandchildren, Jeff (Katie) Nelson, Alexa, Amanda and Sarah Bode; her sister, Elvera (Martin) Cordes; sister-in-law, Phyllis Ohlmann; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Shirley) Bode; and sister-in-law, JoAnn (Lawrence) Baietti. Doris is also survived by other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Mark Nelson; brother, Willis Ohlmann; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lorenz and Eva Bode. Funeral services for Doris will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 3350 Lathrop Avenue, on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. with Rev. Daniel Feldscher officiating. Inurnment will take place at West Lawn Memorial park. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the church on Tuesday evening from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Racine Lutheran High School or the Capital Campaign, Concordia Lutheran High School, 700 E.
