Doreen Grace Kinsley, 85 passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025 at Ascension All Saints.
She was born in a small town of Edgar on November 1, 1939 to the late Alexander and Julia Cichon. Then her family moved to Ojibwa, where they had a small farm. Overtime, they had chickens, pigs and geese. Doreen loved to ride her horse.
On July 23, 1960 in Winter, WI, Doreen married Chester Kinsley. They were blessed with three children and nearly 65 years of marriage. Together, they enjoyed camping throughout many states.
She was a homemaker, medical transcriptionist and a school bus driver.
Doreen and Chester enjoyed square-dancing with other members. She was a talented sewer and liked to knit and crochet. Doreen loved their place up-north. She put her heart and soul into the reconstruction and remodeling of their cabin up north. She enjoyed four wheeling, being in the woods and deer hunting. Throughout a decade of hunting, she harvested nine deer with her .243 rifle. Above all, her greatest joy was her family.
She is survived by her husband Chester Kinsley, her children Tammy Prochaska, Jerome (April) Kinsley, and Dan (Kathy) Kinsley; her grandchildren Nicole (Paul) Baumgart, Steven Kinsley, Amanda Zimdars, Tony Zimdars, Robert (Jessie) Kinsley, Zack (Katie) Kinsley and Jamie Vanwey; and her great-grandchildren Bryce, Weston, Paxton, Cooper, Gracie, Caleb and Abbie.
In addition to her parents, Doreen is preceded in death by her son-in-law Todd Prochaska, her sisters Blanche Wilds and Lorraine Vanwey and her brother Ray Cichon.
A visitation for Doreen will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Purath-Strand Funeral Home. Private inurnment will take place in Winter Cemetery, Winter, WI in the spring.
