MOUNT PLEASANT – Donald L. Schulz, 74, passed away at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa on Monday, August 16, 2021. Don was born in Racine on August 7, 1947, to the late David and Erma (nee, Ruppel) Schulz. He graduated from Horlick High School in 1965. Following graduation he served in the U.S. Army, 8th Target Acquisition Battalion, 25th Artillery in Vietnam. Don married the former Mary Sagan, celebrating 52 years of marriage. Don was employed by Conserv FS, Union Grove Farm and Grain, and was owner and operator of David Schulz, Jr. Farm & Greenhouse. Don grew up on the family farm and continued farming his entire life. He served as a Trustee for the Village of Mount Pleasant for many years. Don loved spending time with his family and friends, sharing stories and gardening tips. Playing sheepshead with his grandsons and friends, pounding his elbow on the table when he got schneider was his trademark move. His sense of humor was contagious, his smile lit up the room. All 6 of his grandchildren provided him the opportunity to be silly. Survivors include his wife, Mary Schulz; daughters, Catherine (Mark) Andersen and Carey (Robert) Owen; grandchildren, David Andersen, Michael Andersen, Kate Andersen, Zachary Owen, Jimmy Owen and Jackson Owen; and his brother, Glen (Esther) Schulz. Don is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A funeral service for Don will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family on Saturday morning at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff, nurses and physicians with Ascension Hospital, Froedtert Hospital and the V.A.
