Donald E. Scheck Racine - Donald E. Scheck, 74, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 2, 2007. Don was born in Julesburg, CO on February 4, 1933 to Rev. Elmer and Esther (nee, Beutler) Scheck. He married the former Audrey A. Kunkes on July 5, 1959. Don spent his working life serving God as principal and teacher in the Lutheran school system. He was a member of Lutheran Chapel of the Cross. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Audrey A. Scheck; children, David (Alicia) Scheck, Susan (Jon) Goldsworthy and Matthew (Julie) Scheck; grandchildren, Jessica, Adam (Tara), Alex and Carly; great grandchildren, Rylissa, Hailee and Adrianna; sisters, Irene Laatsch and Dorothy (Glenn) Hessler; and sisters-in-law, Barbara Scheck and Jackie Scheck. Don is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Rev. Elmer Scheck and Daniel Scheck. Funeral services for Don will be held at Lutheran Chapel of the Cross, 1426 Fancher Road, on Sunday, August 6, 2007 at 7 p.m. with Rev. Daniel Feldscher officiating. Interment will take place at Mound Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Sunday from 4 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Lutheran Chapel of the Cross Building Fund or Racine Lutheran High School.
