RACINE – Donald L. Rigden, 84, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints on Tuesday, July 19, 2016. Don was born in Milwaukee on July 13, 1932 to Harry and Margaret (nee, Lusiak) Rigden. On January 18, 1958 he married the former Barbara Poindexter. Don served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1953 – 54. He was proud that his grandsons Marty and Sidney who both served in Iraq. He enjoyed fishing and hunting but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Rigden; children, Ralph (Ann) Rigden, Tina Davis, Ronald (Sonia) Rigden, Amy Rigden and son-in-law, Landry (Beverly) Herndon and Bob Salvatore and Colleen Rigden; grandchildren, Jessica Davis, Kimberly (Justin) Meade, Marty (Kristin) Davis, Sidney Rigden, Joshua Rigden, Jacob Salvatore, Rylan Rigden, Shayne Rigden, Michael and Lucas Rigden; great-grandchildren, Grace Meade, Luella Meade and Parker Davis. Don is further survived by his brother, Edward (Judy) Rigden; sisters, Patricia Thompson and Marie Rigden; and special sister-in-law, Judy Rigden; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Beverly Herndon; son-in-law, Marty (Tina) Davis; and brothers, Robert Rigden and Richard Rigden. A memorial service for Don will be held at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 1015 Four Mile Road, on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 4 p.m. with Rev. Michael Mueller officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the church on Sunday afternoon from 3 p.m. until the time of the service at 4 p.m. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the entire medical staff at Wheaton Franciscan Hospice and Wheaton Franciscan All Saints, especially Jason B. for all of their compassionate care they provided to Don.
