Donald R. Greening Racine - Donald R. Greening, 78, passed from his wife's arms into the arms of the Lord on Saturday morning, May 26, 2007 at his home.Don was born in Kenosha on September 19, 1928 to Herbert and Agnetta (nee: Kluberg) Greening. He married the former Virginia 'Carla' Grigson in Racine on October 11, 1976. Don was employed by the Racine Fire Department for over 20 years, retiring in 1977. Don loved to build and fly radio controlled airplanes. He also enjoyed sailing, building his own 16 foot sailboat, spending many hours on Lake Michigan and Green Lake. His biggest interest was his family, especially his grandchildren whom he spent countless days caring for and sharing special times with.Survivors include his wife, Virginia (Carla) Greening; daughters, Laurie Greening, and Kathryn Greening Piette of Racine and Stephanie Mach of Kenosha; grandchildren, Michelle Mach of Kenosha, Faryn (Ramon) Benedict, Justin and Joshua Beaton, Megan, Adrienne, DeAnna and Justin Piette all of Racine; mother-in-law, Audrey Kubiaczyk of Elcho; sisters-in-law, JoAnn Logan of Crystal Falls, MI and Lilymae (Jim) Bobber of Hortonville; and brother-in-law, Clifford Smith of Elcho. Don is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tamara Beaton; brothers-in-law, Roger Smith and Jack Logan; aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services for Don will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 31, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon from 2 p.m. until the time of services.
