Donald P. Freichels Racine – Donald P. Freichels, 79, passed away at his home on Sunday, May 22, 2011. Don was born in St. Cloud, MN on April 17, 1932 to George and Angeline (nee, Hentges) Freichels. He married the former Darlene Treu. Don retired from Eder Industries in Oak Creek after more than 25 years. Don served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He achieved the rank of Master Sergeant, earning the Korean Service Medal with five Bronze Service Stars, United Nations Service Badge, Silver Star and the Purple Heart. He was a member of American Legion Post 0546. Don is beloved husband to Darlene Freichels; loving father and grandfather of Carmen (Chris) Mantz, Sheila (Burt Bunger) Jamrose and Don (Jessica Kosinski) Freichels; grandchildren, Nick and Brad Olson, Christopher Mantz, Ashley and Sarah Jamrose, Damon Freichels and Austin Kosinski; and his brothers, George (Ardie) Freichels, Delroy (Elaine) Freichels, Arthur (Lonnie) Freichels and Richard Freichels. Don is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Mary Ann Freichels. Inurnment will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to meet at the cemetery chapel on Monday, June 6, 2011 at 12 noon for Military Honors.
