Racine – Donald D. Moe, 86, passed away at his home on Friday, March 4, 2011. Don was born in Norway, MI on October 29, 1924. He married the former Marie Nogrosky. Don served in the U.S. Army in Europe during WWII. After the war he went to work for Stilb's Shoe Store in Racine, later purchasing the store in the early 1960's. Don moved the store to Western Village, closing the store upon his retirement in 1984. Don is survived by his wife, Marie Moe; sister, Carol Dvorsky; and brothers, James (Clarita) Moe and Dick (Ellie) Moe. Don is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosemary Moe; a son, Timothy Moe; and brothers, Irving Moe and John Moe. The Mass of Christian Burial for Don will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, corner of Erie and St. Patrick Streets, on Friday, March 11, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
