Dolores Mae Hanson 91, passed away on Thursday March 15th, 2018, in her home at Wildomar Senior Living, Wildomar, California following a brief illness. Lee M. Hanson and Tom Hanson preceded her death.Dee was born on May 14, 1926 the daughter of Clarence and Verna Bellaire. She married to Leland Hanson on Oct.18th, 1947 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church. Dee attended St. Catherine's High school and began her secretarial career at JI Case. She also worked at St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing as assistant to the Director of Nursing Education for 10 years after which she worked for Dr. Christianson and Dr, Hammes until retiring in 1980. Dee was an avid seamstress and loved boating and fishing with Lee, family and dear friends. Dee and Lee ventured to Wickenburg, Arizona; Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Dallas, Texas before returning to Racine. They also enjoyed retirement in Winneconne, Wisconsin and Little Falls, Minnesota. Since 2012, Dee lived in southern California near her daughter, granddaughter and family.Survivors include her daughter Karen (Rich) Peterson Ward; Hans (Julia) Peterson; grandchildren, Kirsten (Chad) Peterson Horning, Camilla Hanson and Eric Hanson; great grandchildren, Chase Merrit, Charles James, Christopher Lee and Kyle Pate Horning; her brother, Lloyd Bellaire; and her sister, Mary Ellen (Marsh) Chovan. Inurnment will take place at Southern Wisconsin Vererans Memorial Cemetery; joining Lee and Tom. Memorials may be directed to local Hospice services or charity of choice, to honor the special caregivers Dee had at Wildomar Senior Living and Hospice of the Valleys.
