Diane G. Stardy Racine – Diane G. Stardy, 72, passed away at Lakeshore Manor on Saturday, October 31, 2009. Diane was born in Milwaukee on June 8, 1937 to Herman and Gladys (nee, Schreck) Buch. Diane married Francis C. Stardy who preceded her in death. Diane graduated from Alverno College with a B.A. in English on May 18, 2002. Diane retired from the Milwaukee Public School System after more than twenty years of service. She was an active volunteer with the Alverno College – Assessment Program and the Countryside Humane Society. Diane also served as an Ombudsman for Lakeshore Manor from July 2004 until December 2008 and Secretary for her local condominium Association. Scouting played an important role in her life. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother for over twenty years starting in 1967. She earned the Silver Beaver Award in 1979, but her most proud achievement was seeing all four of her sons become Eagle Scouts. Survivors include her four sons, Scott (Karen) Stardy of Kansas, Steven (Kelly) Stardy of Texas, Stuart Stardy of Milwaukee and Terrance (Melissa) Stardy of Racine; six grandchildren, Nicholas, Margaret, Danielle, Matthew, Gabriel and Michael; and her sister, Patricia Buch of Milwaukee. Diane is also survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her dog and best buddy, Rutger. Memorials services for Diane will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 7 p.m. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 p.m. until the time of services. Inurnment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Milwaukee on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 11 a.m. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the entire staff at Lakeshore Manor for their friendship and compassionate care.
