It is with sadness to announce that Dennis (Manny) L. Ketzer passed away peacefully with his partner by his side after years of suffering from multiple chronic health conditions on April 2, 2026 in his home at the age of 69.
He was born to the late Walter and Gretel (Loebig) Ketzer in Racine. Dennis, the eldest of three boys graduated from Wm. Horlick High School and lived in Racine his entire life.
Dennis was an avid fisherman. In his younger years playing ball and hunting also kept him busy. As he aged watching sports and keeping up with current affairs were his favorite activities. Early in life Dennis was employed at Kortendick’s True Value in the sporting goods department. He furthered his career with Harris Metals, the Village of Caledonia, Racine County and then retiring from the City of Racine Parks Department.

He furthered his career with Harris Metals, the Village of Caledonia, Racine County and then retiring from the City of Racine Parks Department. He enjoyed spending time in his large yard tending to the roses and garden. During the summers you could find Dennis and Sharon at their private getaway in Baraboo enjoying retirement with family and friends.
Dennis is survived by his partner and life-long friend Sharon (Eickhorst) Johnson, daughter Sonia (Blake Manning) Ketzer of Parker CO, grandson Ari Ketzer of Parker CO, brothers Danny (Cheryl) Ketzer, Douglas Ketzer, cousins Gerry (Kathy) Simon, Gene Simon and Gail (Mark Pfost) Simon all of Racine. He is further survived by relatives in Racine and Germany. Other survivors include Sharon’s family as well as, his many friends. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, his Tante Erna, Uncle Eddie and other members of his family in Racine and Germany.
Visitation will be held at Purath Strand on April 9th. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:30 followed by a service. Private interment at the Holy Cross family plot will take place.
As special thank you to neighbors, friends and family who provided their help and support over the years. Sharon would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the medical team(s) at Compassus Hospice/Home Health, Ascension, Froedtert and Mayo for their support and compassion throughout Dennis’ medical journey. Dennis was a friend to many. He will be missed, in our thoughts and hearts always.
