Racine- Debra S. Vernon, 65, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023 at Ascension All Saints Hospital.

Debbie was born on October 16, 1957 to the late James and Phyllis (nee: Fink) Degerstedt.

She attended J. I. Case high school and was employed with Petersen Machine Co. for over 25 years.

On December 21, 2007 Debbie was married to John Vernon. Sadly, he passed away in 2020.

Debbie was a member of Moose Lodge #437. She enjoyed watching old movies, westerns, Bonanza, Gun Smoke, Andy Griffith, NASCAR, and the Green Bay Packers. Debbie traveled often; taking cruises, going up north and traveling to Florida and Tennessee. She liked to garden and meticulously wrap her homemade banana bread. Debbie loved her little dog "Willy" and spending time with family and friends at Fritz's.

She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Amy (Michael) Payan; her son, Adam Degerstedt; her grandchildren Nikolas, Noah and Alexander; and her brother, James (Valerie) Degerstedt. Debbie is further survived by step-children and step-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service for Debra will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Purath-Strand Funeral Home. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
