Debra K. Minnie, affectionately known as Debie, passed away peacefully after an unexpected brief illness on Friday, October 4, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her lifelong partner, Terri, and her daughter, Monica. She was #ministrong until her last breath.
Born in Ohio on July 13, 1956, to the late Robert G. and Betty C. Brown, Debie moved to Ventura, California, before settling in Racine, Wisconsin, in 1993.
Debie is survived by her partner of 20 years, Terri Scott; her children, Monica (Art) Mejia-Natividad and Robert Gene Kearney; her grandchildren, James Campos, Philip Carter, Alliyah Carter, Amara Kearney, Robert Kearney, and Andrew Kearney; and her great-grandsons, Alexander Islas and Ethan Kearney. Her sister, Hazel Theys; her nieces Ashley Dematos-Tate and Rebecca Hoffer and her fur baby Lexie-Lou.
A dedicated employee of Racine Railroad Products for 18 years, Debie was a materials manager who was well-respected by her colleagues. She was an avid reader, sports enthusiast, and enjoyed bowling and softball with friends. Known for her good fortune, she also loved visiting casinos and playing games of luck. Debie's smile and warmth touched the lives of many. She was blessed with countless friends who cherished her vibrant spirit and generous heart.
A celebration of Debie's life will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Racine Moose Lodge #437, located at 5530 Middle Road, Racine, Wisconsin.
