Racine – David L. Matson, 63, passed away at his home on Monday, January 3, 2011. David was born in Racine on September 15, 1947 to Stanley and Marie (nee, DuMont) Matson. He was employed by Eckmann Custom Products for the past 46 years. David had a passion for Corvettes, and enjoyed restoring his 1969 Corvette Stingray. He loved to work with his hands. David always had a home improvement project he was working on. There was nothing around his home that he did not turn into an improvement project. David is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Al) Krysiak; granddaughter, Stephanie (David) Beal; great-granddaughter, Alana Beal; sisters, JoAnn (Mark Schmidt) Matson and Judy (Jim) Tishken; nephew, Joel Tishken; and niece, Julie (Matt) Nelson and their children, Hannah, Caleb and Gracelyn. David is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Janet and Jean. A Memorial Service for David will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 6 p.m. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 p.m. until the time of the service.
