This won’t be your typical obituary, more of a story about a very special man named Dave… David Allen Baker was born on Friday, October 16, 1942. He was truly a one of a kind. He ascended on July 2nd after he heard one of his favorite songs. His wife Barbara (61 years of marriage and ON her birthday), his son Jeff and daughter Kim were there with him. Also a last beer was shared between father and son. Dave loved it. They also told him that he was not just loved by US but by all that were lucky enough to have known him. He mentioned earlier this year that “if” this was his “year to go”, that he lived “a great one”.
He was extremely proud of his military service in the Army and talked about it often as he saluted every American flag within his path. He forged unions with so many people throughout every facet of life… family, friends at work, on the street, if you met him your life was better. Dave loved fishing. There are probably hundreds of fishing stories that involve Dave. If you went fishing with him, you definitely have one. He was and is unforgettable.
Kim also wants to add, that for a daughter to be wholeheartedly loved by her Dad as much as he loved her, THAT, was and is truly magical.
His humor was legendary to everyone who knew him. He will also be absolutely missed by his grandkids, Emerson, Maddux and Lennon.
One final thing from Dave…. BOOP!!
A celebration of Dave’s life will be held at Infusino’s Banquet Hall, 3201 Rapids Drive on Saturday, July 11, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
