Darlene J. Muffick Racine - Darlene J. (nee, Hanson) Muffick, 74, passed away at her home on Friday, February 1, 2008. Darlene was born in Racine on May 12, 1933 to Floyd and Helen (nee, Hansen) Hanson. She married Keith Muffick at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer on June 21, 1952, recently celebrating 55 years of marriage. Darlene retired from Racine Unified School District where she worked at Starbuck Middle School for more than 30 years. Darlene was a very active person and loved spending time with her husband Keith at their cabin in Boulder Junction, WI. She loved spending time fishing, paddle boating, water skiing and shopping flea markets and craft sales. She also enjoyed her time golfing in the golf leagues at Ives Grove and Johnson Park. Darlene was an active volunteer at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, where she taught Sunday School and Summer Camp. Darlene is survived by her husband, Keith Muffick; children, Karen (Tom) Kelly, Jeff Muffick and Jackie Grisham; grandchildren, Scott and Laura Cairns, Lauren and Logan Muffick, Michael Lidholm and Joshua Grisham; aunt, Marion Hansen and special friends, Alvera and Al Danoski, Sally and Paul Cushman and Kathy and Dick Cook. Darlene is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Wesley Hanson.Funeral services for Darlene will be held at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 2417 Drexel Avenue, on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Molly Doreza officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family have been suggested.The family would like to extend a special thanks to Tonya and Chaplain Scott of Wheaton Franciscan Hospice for their guidance and spiritual support, and Dr. Miritz.Darlene was passionate about her two favorite sports teams.Go CubsGo Bears
