RACINE- Darlene Joyce Atkinson, age 79, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017.Darlene was born in LaCrosse on May 29, 1938. She married Robert Atkinson, he preceded her in death. Darlene and Robert raised a very tight knit family together. She loved being at family gatherings and being the family photographer. She enjoyed working in her garden and watching the birds in her yard. Darlene was a "social butterfly" and enjoyed meeting new people. She also enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and going to the casino. Darlene is survived by her children, Allan (Anita), Paul (Linda), Denise (Otis) Kincaid and Laurie Atkinson; grandchildren, Xavier Osgood, Gina, Mark (Stasia), Katherine, Marques, Maurice, Melissa and Brianna Kincaid, Jasmine (Marc) Graf and Samantha Hopkins; fur baby, Angel; great grandchildren; brothers and sister, Gaylord (Linda) Anderson, Jeanine Rhode and Richard (Josie) Anderson; and brothers in law, Donnie (Karen) Atkinson and David Atkinson. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Darlene was preceded in death by her mother, Florence Anderson; brothers and sister, Bob Anderson, Christian "Jr." Anderson, James Anderson and Shirley Sieminko. A Mass of Christian Burial for Darlene will be held at St. Rita Parish, 4339 Douglas Avenue, on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. celebrated by Fr. Richard T. O'Leary, O.S.A. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
