Obituary

RACINE - Clifford Burl Brander, loving husband of 53 years to Elsie Brander, passed away on Friday May 30, 2014 of Congestive Heart Failure. Cliff was born in Arena, WI, on December 1, 1928, to Alton and Edna (nee: Anderson) Brander. He attended Hays School and graduated from Spring Green High School, serving in the United States Air Force before retiring after 28 years from KAT in Kenosha as a car hauler. Cliff enjoyed trips to the home farm in Spring Green, visiting family and friends, discussing everything from family history to finance and farm practices. He also treasured the youthful energy his great granddaughters Maya and Molly provided as they searched excitedly for grandpa and often treated him to a concert or two. He is survived by his wife, Elsie Brander; grandson, Hank (Andrea) Grady; beloved great granddaughters, Molly Grady, Maya Grady, Faye Hendren-Stegemeier, and Arielle (Tom) Skowronski; brothers, Don (Bev) Brander and Glen (Marie) Brander both of Lone Rock; sister-in-law, Dorothy Kupper and Joanne Bernhardt of Racine; brothers-in-law, Harvey Bernhardt of Racine, Don Bernhardt originally from Racine, and Jim Rodgers of Madison. Cliff is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Edna (Anderson) Brander; daughter, Phyllis Grady; brother, Franklin Brander; sister, Carol Rodgers; and sisters-in-law, Geraldine (Ramsden) Brander, Betty Bernhardt; brothers-in-law, Pete Kupper, Jake Bernhardt and Edward Bernhardt. Funeral services for Cliff will be held at the funeral home on Friday evening, June 6, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Rich Doering officiating. Interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5 p.m. until the time of the service at 7:30 p.m.Loving treatment and care was provided for many years by the excellent staff at Wheaton Franciscan Health Centers. Some of those great people who have been a part of Clifford's life: Dr. Short, Dr. Panchal, Dr. Murillo and their individual wonderful staff; and through his last days some fantastic people: Wheaton Home Health staff, Dr. Bader, Nurses Chris, Annie, Victoria, and Sue.
