RACINE – Clara Jaeck, 83, passed away at Ascension All Saints on Sunday, October 30, 2016. Clara was born in Racine on April 2, 1933 to Alexander and Agavhni "Ann" (nee, Tazakian) Sahagian. She married the love of her life, Kenneth C. Jaeck, in 1954. Clara was a very giving person who enjoyed spending time with her family and life-long friends. She was beloved by her grandchildren for her thoughtfulness and the special touch she added to the simplest of things. Clara had a way of making other people feel special and enjoyed helping all those she met. Clara was also an avid traveler who loved to see the world on cruise ships. Clara and Ken cruised throughout the Caribbean, Central America, Hawaii, Alaska, and even Europe. Clara's love of cruises (and shopping) led her into a second career in the travel business after working for nearly 30 years as a grocery store checker. Clara shared her passion with others by helping them plan memorable vacations, and loved her work even up to her last days. Clara's positive outlook and energetic spirit will be missed by many. Survivors include her children, David Jaeck, Terry Jaeck and Greg (JoAnne Breese-Jaeck) Jaeck; grandchildren, Daniel Jaeck, Aaron Jaeck, Amalia Jaeck and Alaina Jaeck; and her sister, Patricia Kline. Clara is also survived by other relatives and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken Jaeck, her sisters, Noreen (Marinello), Rose (Hand), Norma (Anderson), and her brother, George Sahagian. Funeral services for Clara will be held at Holy Communion Lutheran Church on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 1:30 with Rev. Laura Fladten and Rev. Mark Doidge officiating. Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Monday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Holy Communion Lutheran Church Food Pantry.
