Racine – Chris M. Kjaer, 60, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2013, after a battle with cancer. Chris was born in Racine on April 14, 1952 to Hans and Karen (nee, Hagedorn) Kjaer. He married Christina (nee, Wichmann) Kjaer in a garden wedding at their home in 1977. Chris was the former owner of Valentyne's restaurant on Douglas Avenue in Racine. Chris is survived by his wife, Christina Kjaer; daughters, Kiersten (Jorge) Huizar and Myja (Amit Raghuvanshi) Kjaer; grandson, Santana Huizar; granddaughter, Georgina Huizar; and his brother, Jens (Rose) Kjaer. Chris is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 from 5 until 7 p.m. A reception will follow at Chris and Tina's home. Private family interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery.
