RACINE – Charles Woods, 75, passed away at Ridgewood Care Center on Thursday, December 11, 2014. Charles was born in Monroe, AL on February 28, 1939. Charles was a very social person. He lived at Racine Residential Care for a number of years where he actively participated in Special Olympics, Sunshine Club and dance club. In 2008 Charles moved back to Ridgewood Care Center, where he reconnected with the staff and the many friends he made over the years. He also enjoyed watching baseball, all things sports related, attending activities, going out into the community and looking at various sports magazines and TV Guide, but most of all he loved attending holiday events with his family. Charles is survived by his brother and sisters, Timothy (Diane) Dumas, Brenda (Oliver) Irby-Rogers, of Racine and Rhonda (David) Marsh-Witfield of Milwaukee. Charlie is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Marsh; and his sister. Funeral services for Charles will be held at the funeral home on Monday, December 15, 2014 at 1 p.m. with interment to follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 12 noon until the time of the service at 1 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Ridgewood Care Center Activities Department. Charlie's guardian would like to extend her appreciation to all of Charlie's caregivers at Ridgewood and Residential Care for all of their friendship and compassionate care over the years.
