Racine – Charles Robert Pease, 93, passed away at Hospice House in Kenosha on Sunday, March 10, 2013.Four scores and thirteen years ago, in Keithsburg, Illinois, Charles Robert Pease was the fourth child and youngest son born to the parents of Charles L. and Hilda S. (nee, Hall) Pease. Charles attended Keithsburg Illinois schools, completing 12 year course in 10 years, (1926 - 1936), graduating 2nd in his class. He attended Rock Island, Illinois Business College – 1-year course 1936 – 1937.Charles was united in holy matrimony June 13, 1941 in Jackson, Michigan to the former Virginia E. Lindquist. From this union, one daughter, Jina Kathleen Pease was born, June 14, 1947. From 1943 – 1946 served in United Stated Marine Corps as an Aerial Navigator with Marine Transport Squadron 953 in the Pacific theatre, serving 1 and years on flight duty during the war. From 1942-1943 he worked as a civilian expediter by U.S. Naval service. – zones rank – technical Sgt. Until his health failed, Charles was an active member of the Marine Corps League, Agerholm-Gross Detachment. He was a devoted Cubs fan and loved Big Band music.Employed at J.I. Case commencing in 1946 to 1977 in the Departments of; Purchasing, Manager of Production Control; Factory Budget, Order, Scheduling and Marketing departments. He served from 1946 – 1953 as buyer in the purchasing Dept. and Manager of production control in Racine Factory. From 1953 –1964 in Bettendorf, IA and MGR in production control, factory budget Dept., and factory order & schedule departments. From 1964 – 1977 Marketing Department in Racine. He retired September 30, 1977 at age 57 with 36 years of service. He united with the First United Methodist Church, December 30, 1951. Survived to date, One and only child, Jina Kathleen Vehnekamp, son-in-law-, Ernest J. Vehnekamp, dearest friend of a lifetime – Annie L. Elam, Racine, WI; Nieces and Nephew, Beverly Peterson, Alexis, Il., Robert K. Pease, Nashville, Tennessee, Diane Parsons, Galena, Il., Eric Saunders, Arnold, C A., and Dan and Pat Flaherty. Brother in-Law Jack Flaherty, Alexis IL. Cat friends: Sweetie, Cutie, and Purkee. Charles is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by: Mother – Hilda S. Wingate, father Charles L. Pease, brother, Loren L. Pease, Sister-in-law- Thelma (Searle), sister, Helen a Flaherty, Ruth N. Saunders, brother in-law, Floyd A. Saunders, step- brother-in law, Lowell N. Wingate, and step-father, Lewis a Wingate. Funeral services for Charles will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
