Charles H. Kuiper – ObituaryCharles H. Kuiper, 84, left this earth for his eternal home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, February 11th, 2011. He was at home surrounded by his loving family.He was born on January 20th, 1927 to Henry and Sadie Kuiper in Racine, WI.The love of his life was his wife and partner Mae E. Kuiper (nee. Walraven) whom he married on April 18th, 1947, who survives him. Together, they raised 4 children and grew the family farm from a small operation taken over from his father Henry to a major business in Union Grove. His love for farming and for the land was evident to all who knew him. After the Lord and his family, he devoted his life to the farm until the time of his retirement in 2000. The Kuiper Family Farm legacy continues to the 4th generation with the operation now being run by his son Charles and grandson's Chuck and Joel Kuiper.Chuck and Mae spent many good times traveling with his brother Harold and his wife, going on cruises to a variety of locations including a favorite trip to Alaska. Another highlight was a visit to Holland for their 50th wedding anniversary.Charles is further survived by his children, Karen (Ric) Storbeck, Charles (Susan) Kuiper, Laurie Kuiper, Janice (David) Kuiper-Pikna. Grandchildren: Jacquelyn (Peykan) Beyrami; Rikki Storbeck; Corey (Kara) Storbeck; Charles Kuiper III; Candice (John) Stock; Joel (Erin) Kuiper; Sherrod Smith; D. Ryan Pikna; Alan Pikna; Hailey Pikna along with 12 great-grandchildren.He is further survived by his brother Harold (Vernell) Kuiper and sisters Pat Rieth and Marge (Stu Rosema) Venema. Sisters-in-law: Sally Kuiper, Winifred Kuiper and Mildred Kuiper. He is also survived by in-laws Dolly (Rich) Andersen. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Sadie Kuiper; brothers: Simon, Clarence, William, Henry, Samuel, John and twin brother Frankie. Sisters: Elsie Kuiper and Olga Wildschut along with sisters-in-law Johanna Kuiper, Grace Kuiper and Theresa Kuiper; brothers-in-law Edgar Rieth, Garrett Venema and Louis Wildschut. He was also preceded in death by in-laws Ada (Dowie) Soetenga and Harold Walraven. Also waiting for him in Heaven was his great-grandson Noah Kuiper.Charles and Mae were faithful members of Calvary Memorial Church and wish to thank the pastors and members for their many prayers over these last years.The family would also like to give a very special thank you to our caregiver Eugene Babula. His special care and attention to detail helped the family keep dad home until the time of his death. We would also like to thank the nurses and aids from Hospice Alliance in Pleasant Prairie for their special care and compassion.Funeral services will be a Calvary Memorial Church, 4001 Washington Ave. Racine, WI on Monday February 14th at noon. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at noon. Interment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Memorial Church, mission outreach or the Hospice Alliance in Pleasant Prairie.
