Obituary

WINTER HAVEN, FL - Charles R. Evinic passed away on December 26, 2014 following a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Chuck was born in Racine on July 17, 1942 to Charles and Laura Evinic. He graduated from Lutheran High in 1960. After graduation he joined the Navy and received his honorable discharge in 1964. Chuck married his soul mate, Judith Hansen, on May 10, 1969, and together they had 2 sons. He joined Racine Fire Department in 1970 and retired as a DO in 1995. Chuck and Judi moved to Florida in 1998 but returned to Wisconsin every summer to their 'little house in the woods', in the Wisconsin Dells area, until his illness no longer allowedChuck is survived by his wife of 46 years, Judi; and two sons, David (Terri) and Jay, and granddaughter, Sarah Evinic of Illinois. He is further survived by sisters, Joann (August) Priemer, Laura (Norm) Helwig, Louise (Kurt) Humm and Nancy (Jeff) Haman; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members including sister-in-law, Janice (Terry) Koechell and brother-in-law, Tom (JoAnn) Hansen. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; and in-laws, Oscar and Minnie Hansen; brother, John; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richard (Janette) Hansen and Joan (Tom) Fehlberg; niece, Tammy Hush; and nephew, Randy Schauer.A celebration of Chuck's life will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 27, 2015, with a visitation and light luncheon from 12 noon until 1 p.m., followed by a memorial service in his honor at 1 p.m.
