RACINE – Satenig "Cettina" Dertadian, nee, Kaprelian, 93, passed away at Ridgewood Care Center on Sunday, July 3, 2016. Cettina was born in Racine on February 17, 1923 to Khatchadour and Vartouhi (nee, Giragosian) Kaprelian. On November 4, 1945, Cettina married Arshag "Arnold" Dertadian at St. Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church. He preceded her in death in February 1955. Cettina had worked for Kohl's Food Store for over twenty years. She was a very active and longtime member of St. Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church where she was past Chairperson of the Women's Auxiliary. She was past president and very active in the Armenian Relief Society. Both Cettina and Arnold where charter members of the Armenian Youth Federation formed in 1933. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include her daughters, Christine Dertadian and Cynthia Dertadian-Soukiasian; granddaughter, Alexandria Soukiasian; great-granddaughter, Alyana Rose; her sister-in-law, Jeanette Kaprelian; and brother-in-law, John Wesnick. She is also survived by her nieces, and nephews, John (Wendy) Kaprelian, Perry (Tami) Kaprelian, Robert (Joleen) Lansing, Jeff Lansing, Denise Lansing, Linda (John) Antaramian and Debra (Lucien) Boyadjian; great-nephews, John, Jeff and Michael Boyadjian, Martin Antaramian, Sean Lansing and Chasen Wallert; and great-nieces, Melinda Antaramian and Stacey Lansing. Cettina is also survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters and brother, Margaret Kaprelian, Harry "Artin" Kaprelian, Sophie Wesnick and Margaret Lansing; and her niece, Mary Beth "Mari" Kaprelian. Funeral services for Cettina will be held at St. Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to meet at the church on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:30 a.m. Memorials may be directed to St. Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church, the Armenian Relief Society or the Alzheimer's Foundation.
