Catherine VartanianRacine- Our beloved mother Catherine Vartanian passed away at her home on Monday, July 4, 2011 at the age of 87.She was born on January 20, 1924 the daughter of Armen and Esquhee (nee: Bedenian) Balian. On July 5, 1941 Catherine was united in marriage to Charles Vartanian, Jr. He preceded her in death on August 17, 1995.Surviving are her 3 sons, Leon, John, and David (Deborah) Vartanian and her special daughter Kathy Vartanian; grandchildren, Chad (Heather) Vartanian, Cory (Courtney) Vartanian, Aaron McGraw and Heather Perfetto and great grandchildren, Cody, Michael, Matthew and Brayden. She is further survived by her sister Margaret Tartadian; nephew, Harry Tartadian, sister in law, Mary Vartanian and many friends and special cousins. She was preceded in death by her daughter Susan McGraw on June 7, 2007.Funeral services for Catherine will be held at St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Yeprem Kelegian officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials to St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church have been suggested. A special thank you to her son and daughter for the loving care they gave to their mother, Dr. Ranga Sriram and Dr. James Mataczynski for her care of these years and to the nurses and aides at Gentiva Home Care & Odyssey Hospice for their care and compassion.
