Racine – Catherine I. Parise, 82, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints on Wednesday, September 18, 2013. Cathy was born in Racine on October 6, 1930 to Joseph and Agnes (nee, Hellman) Terselic. She married Alfred Parise on April 30, 1954. Cathy's passion was being an artist, selling some of her work both in this country and Europe. She loved cooking and baking and her desserts were enjoyed by many people. Survivors include her husband, Alfred Parise; daughter, Becky (Jaime) Encalada; and her beloved grand-dog, Savannah "Savvy". Cathy is also survived by other relatives, friends and extended Encalada-Nuez family in Ecuador, South America. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Joseph Terselic; and sister, Shirley Blackwell. The Mass of Christian Burial for Cathy will be held at St. Richard of Chichester Parish, 1509 Grand Avenue, on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 4 until 7 p.m. and at the church on Monday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Memorials may be directed to a charity of one's choice or for Mass's in remembrance of Cathy. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the nurse's and staff of Wheaton Franciscan All Saints for all of their care and compassion; and a special thanks to Dr's Berce and Ansani for their exceptional care.
