Franksville – Catherine E. Knapp, 80, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan- All Saints on Saturday, December 31, 2011. Cathy was born in Waukegan, IL on July 6, 1931 to Joseph and Catherine (nee, Hamill) Smith. She spent most of her career in the clerical fields with the Internal Revenue Service and later with Community Newspapers. Cathy was a great animal lover, especially her Golden Retriever, Misty and her cat, Boo Boo. She was also a diehard Packer fan and enjoyed spending time in tomahawk, cooking and her casino trips. Cathy is survived by her children, Raymond (Cathy Petrouske) Knapp and Linda (Rory) O'Brien; grandchildren, Rory O'Brien, Jr. and Kellie (Patrick Wickert) O'Brien; great-grandson, Talan; her brother, Joseph Smith; and her cousin and best friend, donna Shaughnessy. Cathy is also survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Donald Smith. Funeral services for Cathy will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 6 p.m. entombment will take place at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Milwaukee. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be directed to one's favorite charity.
