RACINE – Carolyn M. Akers, 72, passed away at Ascension All Saints on Wednesday July 22, 2020. Carol was born in Minneapolis, MN on June 9, 1948 to Constantine and Lillian (nee, Krivak) Kobylinski. She loved her grandkids. Carol had a green thumb, loved to garden and was a very good cook. She enjoyed watching the Packers and Brewers, and especially loved watching soap operas. She was affectionately referred to as one of the "soap gals" at the cancer center. Survivors include her life partner, Brian E. Buschke; children, Lynette (Joseph) DeRose, Lori (Chadwick) Johnson, Charles (Cathleen) Akers and Kimberly Johnson; grandchildren, Joseph DeRose III, Anthony DeRose, Michael C. Halverson, Leigha Johnson, Tiffany Johnson, Krystal Johnson, Raven Akers, David Harrison, Destiny Fergus, Charles Akers, Jr. and Cheyenne Johnson; her great grandchildren, Andrew Halverson, Aniyah Halverson, Mia Mosley, Aubrey Jerdee, Santino Ortiz, Cashton Jerdee, Penelope Fergus, Caleb Fergus, Jr. and Catalaya Valenzuela. Carol is also survived by her sisters, Nancy (John) Sobczak, Lois (Nick) Mikkelson and Virginia (Richard) Nell; and her sister-in-law, Paulina Kobylinski. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Stanley Kobylinski. In keeping with Carol's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held and will be announced at a later date.
