Obituary

Carole Weger Wiegand, of Racine, was born into eternal life at the age of 85 on June 9, 2021. She is survived by her daughters Nora (Darrell) Kufalk, Ann Rosenquist and grandsons Ryan Rosenquist and Zachary Rosenquist. Further survived by brother-in-law Myron Tubbs, her cousin's wife Jackie Schmitter, nieces Debra (Daniel Wilke) Unger, Karen (Larry) Lepley and nephews Scott (MaryBeth) Weger, Chris (Char) Tubbs, Steven (Tracy) Tubbs, Brian (Gail Penegor) Tubbs, Paul (Sandy Hardy) Tubbs and many more grandnieces, grandnephews, wonderful friends and good neighbors.Preceded in death by her loving husband H. Alan Wiegand, her parents, George and Honora (Duecker) Weger, brother Donald and sister-in-law Pat Weger, dearest sister Georgia (Weger) Tubbs and close cousins Paul (Gail) Schmitter and Bob Schmitter.Carole was born on November 2, 1935 in Milwaukee, WI to George and Honora, the second of three children. She graduated from Wauwatosa High School, then from Marquette University in 1957 with a B.S. in Sociology and Psychology and Political Science minor. She was also a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority, Phi Beta-MU chapter which then went local to Delta Sigma Gamma.After graduation, she worked as a caseworker in family welfare and then in the Intensive Casework Unit at the Milwaukee County Welfare Department. Friend Karen (Kunz) Elliott and her husband Lary introduced her to Alan and February 14, 1959 they were wed. They were together for 23 years until his death on November 3, 1981.Homemaking and caring for her two daughters and husband was very important to Carole, but she found time for many volunteer activities including being Treasurer and President of the Junior Woman's Club of Racine (where she introduced prayer at the beginning of all meetings), President and Membership Chairman of Racine Panhellenic Association, Chairman of the Art Department – Racine Woman's Club, schoolroom, playground and cafeteria Mom, Secretary for the P.T.L. and Treasurer of St. John's Mission Guild. She also put many hours into volunteering at the Lutheran Thrift Shop.Hobbies included gardening, mowing her lawn on her riding mower, bowling, driving her '74 Porsche 914, attending bible class, putting together just the right outfit for each occasion and writing poetry. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.Most of all, Carole loved the Lord. She always wrote a Bible verse in Christmas and birthday cards (book, chapter and verse only!) to encourage people to look up God's word. A service will be held at Noon on Friday, June 25th with visitation preceding the service starting at 10a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1501 Erie St., Racine, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. John's Lutheran – STAR Fund.
