Racine – Carol C. Leslie, 88, passed away peacefully at Ridgewood Health Care Center on Monday, June 4, 2012. Carol was born in Racine on September 18, 1923 to Oliver and Edna (nee, Stuebe) Bronson. She married Howard W. Leslie at St. John's Lutheran Church on April 3, 1943. He preceded her in death on January 14, 2006. Carol graduated from Horlick High School in 1941. She was employed by Racine Optical Company for over ten years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.Carol is survived by her sons, Marc (Ronelle) Leslie of Palm Harbor, FL and Christopher (Edna) Leslie of Hutto, TX; daughter, Carolyn Jacobson and son-in-law, Tony Totero of Racine; grandchildren, Cynthia (Mark) Kautzmann, Jennifer (Tony) Palacios, Steven Jacobson, Jeremy Leslie, Benjamin Leslie, Adam, Sara and Emma Leslie; great grandchildren, Nicole, Danielle, Michael, Ellaina, Heather, Casandra and Ashley; and her sisters, Gloria (Paul) Mielke and Patricia Rosenberg all of Racine. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Jeffery Leslie, Michael Leslie; daughter-in-law, Darlene Leslie; sisters, Dorothy Schweitzer, Marie Steberl and Lillian Urban; and brothers-in-law, Bill Lowe, Cal Schweitzer, Richard Steberl and Roger Rosenberg. Funeral services for Carol will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be directed to Peace Lutheran Church, Juvenile Diabetes or Ridgewood Care Center.The family would like to thank everyone at Ridgewood Care Center and Odyssey Hospice for the loving support and care given to Carol over the past three years.
