Obituary

RACINE – Carl E. Wulff, 95, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints on Thursday, March 5, 2015. Carl was born in New Holstein, WI on June 29, 1919 to Eugene and Alma (nee, Schober) Wulff. He graduated in 1942 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduation he received his commission as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, serving in Europe during WWII. Carl returned from Europe with the rank of Captain. In 1944 he married Esther Niess. They had a loving and caring marriage for over 70 years. Carl retired from Wisconsin Cylinder Foundry after more than 40 years. He had a passion for education and taught engineering classes at the University of Wisconsin-Extension for 25 years. In retirement, Carl worked as a real estate broker. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, was a member of the Masonic Lodge #18, the Shrine and Scottish Rite, a member of First United Methodist Church and swam at the YMCA for most of his adult life. Carl was a true gentleman. He volunteered his time preparing taxes for seniors. He was very generous and well-liked by all who met him. Carl is survived by his loving wife Esther, daughter Susan Bruch (Frank), grandson Max McCord (Carly Ogata), along with many relatives and friends. A private family gathering to celebrate Carl's life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to University of Wisconsin-College of Engineering Scholarship Fund or First United Methodist Church.
