Obituary
Racine - Carl John Vacek, 57, passed away in his sleep on Thursday, June 26, 2025, in his home.
He was born in Racine on March 15, 1968, to Clifford and Alma (nee: Blankman) Vacek.
Carl was a 1986 graduate of William Horlick High School and earned his bachelor's degree in 1991 from UW-Madison in Construction Administration. Throughout his career, Carl was employed with Rasch, F&F, and Bukacek Construction Companies.
He enjoyed Badger basketball, watching Green Bay Packer games with his cousin Scott, and fishing trips to the family cabin in Canada. He will be missed at the family weekly breakfasts.
He is survived by his father Cliff (Geri VanderLeest) Vacek; his brother Curt (Lorri) Vacek; his sister Caroline (Cory Smith) Marks; his nephew Thomas Vacek; and nieces Laura Vacek and Sari Marks. Carl is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother Alma, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. at Purath-Strand Funeral Home, 3915 Douglas Ave. in Racine. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Private inurnment will be held at the Bohemian National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Benjamin House in Franksville or the Bohemian National Cemetery in Caledonia have been suggested.
