Racine – Bruce E. Hendrickson, 71, passed away at Wisconsin Veterans Home on Monday, March 19, 2018. Bruce was born in Milwaukee on April 3, 1946 to Bruce F. and Irene (nee, Davis) Hendrickson. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp, retiring as a Master Sargent after more than 24 years of service, including 27 months in Viet Nam. Bruce married the former Virginia Desens in Milwaukee on June 11, 1977. Bruce also was employed by Amco Metal for over 20 years. He was a life member of the Marine Corp League, V.F.W., the Air Force Association and the N.R.A. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Hess House, a facility for Homeless Veterans and was the former president of the Crestview Homeowners Association. Bruce served on the Racine County Sheriffs Advisory Board and his favorite hobby was working with model trains. Bruce is survived by his wife, Virginia Hendrickson; son, Keith Edward Hendrickson; step-son, Steven Ralph Desens; and cousins, Liz (Paul) Elkovich, Katie Papke and Mike (Lonnie) Papke. Bruce is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services for Bruce will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12 noon.
