Betty R. Thoune Racine - Betty R. Thoune, 82, passed away at St. Catherine's Hospital in Kenosha on Sunday, November 4, 2007. Betty was born in Racine on June 14, 1925 to Augie and Anna (nee, Trienke) Christensen. She married Lawrence J. Thoune at Holy Communion Lutheran Church on August 11, 1945, shortly after their marriage was blessed at Holy Name Catholic Church. Betty worked for Dr. Fogle as his receptionist. She was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church and served as Eucharistic Minister. Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Lawrence J. 'Larry' Thoune; her sons, Lawrence 'Bud' Thoune and daughter-in-law, Becky Grimsrurd of Vancouver, WA and Richard 'Dick' (Terry) Thoune of Racine; her six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Betty is also survived by other relatives and friends, especially Shirley Carlson. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Augie Christensen; sister, Dotie Dean and grandson, Dustin Thoune. The Mass of Christian Burial for Betty will be held at St. Edward's Catholic Church, 1425 Grove Avenue, on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. celebrated by Rev. Allen Bratkowski. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Wednesday from 12 noon until the time of Mass. Memorials may be directed to St. Edward's Catholic Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
