Obituary

RACINE - Beth Bradley Taylor passed into eternal life at age 77 on Sunday, January 10, 2016 after a two year bout with brain cancer. The daughter of Arthur K. Bradley and Erdien G. Bradley, Beth was born on August 8, 1938 in Auburn, New York. She graduated from Ithaca High School and Wells College. After graduation she married Robert F. Taylor on May 6, 1961, and they moved to Boston where Bob's ship was undergoing overhaul at the Boston Navy Yard, and thence to Newport Rhode Island, the ship's home port. After Bob's Naval service, they moved to Wisconsin, where they raised their family in Shorewood and Racine.Throughout her life, Beth was a dedicated wife and mother, a community volunteer and devoted member of Episcopal churches in Milwaukee, Racine, and Tucson, Arizona, serving on the Altar guilds at all three. She was on the vestry and eventually became Senior Warden of St. Michael's Church in Racine, and was an active member of the Junior Leagues in Racine and Milwaukee. She also was an involved parent at Prairie School, where she could often be found watching a daughter's tennis match, basketball game or theatrical production. A nature lover, she adored the outdoors, and was an avid birder. She was also a very successful golfer at Racine and Tucson Country Clubs where she won many honors.She leaves loving relatives in her husband Bob of 54 years, daughters Margaret, Mary, and Catherine, a sister Janet, six grandchildren, and one great grandchild.An immediate memorial service for family and nearby friends was held at St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Racine, A second, larger memorial service will be held later in the year and will be announced on Beth's Caring Bridge site.
