RACINE – Beatrice Lillian Meyers, 95, passed away at The Villas at Lincoln Park on Saturday, March 19, 2016. Bea was born in Cleveland, OH on March 13, 1921 to Michael J. and Caroline A. (nee, Glauner) Morris. On September 14, 1946, Bea married John A. Meyers, celebrating 32 years of marriage. He preceded her in death in 1979. Bea worked for Racine Eye Clinic for many years and retired from Janes School. She was a member of Lutheran Chapel of the Cross where she taught Sunday School, was a member of the Ladies Group and the Ad Hoc Widows Group. Bea loved painting; feeding and watching birds, especially Cardinals and Robins. Survivors include her children, Rev. David J. (JoAnn) Meyers and Althea "Thea" Erickson; grandchildren, Joel Meyers, Rachel Meyers, Chad Erickson and Chase (Theresa) Erickson; and her great-grandchildren, Tyler, Caleb, Ayden, Jayden and Ayley. Bea is also survived by her great grand dog, Mason; nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and Rhea. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Frederick Morris. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 4 until 7 p.m. A Service of Committal will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park Chapel on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. A Memorial service for Bea will be held at a later date and arrangements will be announced at that time. Memorials may be directed to Lutheran Chapel of the Cross or HOPE Safehouse.
