Obituary
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Gladyce Taylor, and brothers Lyle (Helen) and John (Linda).
Barb graduated from the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1956 with her degree in Nursing. In 1957 she married Dick Vail and the couple lived in Janesville, and later relocated to Caledonia in 1969, where she continued her nursing career at Kurten Medical Group until her retirement.
She was known for her spunk, humor and wit. She welcomed anyone and everyone around her dinner table, and was always looking for ways to care for and help others. She collected friends everywhere she went and never missed an opportunity to tell a good joke. She was very involved in the lives of her family and loved ones and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her children, Tim (Cindy), Bob (Wendy), Larry (Angie), Jeff (Bonnie), and Dan (Michelle); her grandchildren, Chris (Stefani), Katie (Kevin), Ashley (Grant), Adam (Callie), Austen (Marialisa), Andrew and Aidan; and great grandchildren, Blake, Leila, Damien, Judah, Grayson, Knox and Titus.
The Family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at St. Monica's Living Center & Memory Care, and St. Croix Hospice for the exceptional care of our Mother and our entire Family.
We would like to invite all to a Celebration of our Mother's life on Wednesday October 23rd at
St. Louis Catholic Church, 13207 Hwy G, Caledonia. Visitation from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Mass at 11:00 a.m. Lunch following. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer's Association of Racine and Kenosha, 12701 Whitewater Drive, STE 290 Minnetonka, MN 55343 are appreciated.
